Flying Foot Forum and Minneapolis Field Trip

Today we went downtown for a dance performance at The Cowles Theater plus some bonus stops. The dance performance was a student matinee (only $5!) with Flying Foot Forum. They did percussive dance, which we have never seen before. It was unique and interesting. We were inspired to try a little bit of our own body percussion mini symphonies afterward and also learned a little bit about bow the theatre was put up on rubber wheels and moved from its original location a few blocks away in Minneapolis. It was a really lovely little theater.

Our next stop was Candyland, where the girls spent some of the Valentine money Grandma Sharon mailed up from Florida. Always a hit, even when walking in the cold! The girls liked walking in the skyway system back to the parking ramp before we headed over to Mill City Museum.

As usual, the best part of Mill City Museum was the Flour Tower and checking out the view over St. Anthony Falls but we also enjoyed the main level displays and the water table area.

We also got to talk about the concept of juxtaposition again as we looked at how this old building that was gutted by fire in the 1990s was remade into a museum with modern materials while still using the shell of the old building.
