Lauren, Gloria and Natalie got to go to a 3D printing class at the Maple Grove library last month. They got to use Google Sketchup to create something and then have it printed on the MakerBot. Gloria created this wonderful TARDIS, which is a time travel device from the TV show Doctor Who.
I used to watch an earlier version of the same show when I was in high school and I find it rather entertaining that there's a new version now from the BBC.
It was really cool that they could take this class because we wouldn't have had a chance to try this technology otherwise.
