I think today will be the official last swim of the season. We had the beach completely to ourselves. The water was quite low, with the crossbars under the dock now showing. However, it was crystal clear and we could see to the bottom, even at the “deep end.” The girls were a little freaked out to see the weeds down there. Of course, they had been there all along, they just were not as visible. And, they certainly were covered with quite a bit more water!
While we were here, they tried out the bars on the playground since I have been insisting that the apple tree in our front yard in not really that great for gymnastics while I sat in the bench with my pens and journals. Before we left, they logged 101 jumps off the dock in spite of the chilly water temperatures. A passerby remarked how joyful they seemed. A good and true observation.
