Without being in public school this year, the girls felt like they might be missing out a bit on having a Valentine party. It was Gloria's idea to have some snacks and activities. We shopped and planned for a few days beforehand and ended up with some things to do and eat today.
First up, candy making. We mostly used supplies we already had but added some Wilton flavorings and new lollipop molds. The flavoring was a great addition to the candy melts.
We made a punch out game with solo cups and tissue paper. To win a cup, you had to roll doubles with a pair of dice. The cups had starburst I bought last year on V-Day clearance and saved. (They were card packs but we didn’t need that part).
I think Gloria’s favorite part was making the brownie kabobs, complete with the heart-shaped marshmallows we happened to find at Aldi.
Another activity we did was creating a treasure hunt for little gifts I found at the thrift store. There were progressive clues to get to the prize at the end of the hunt.
And lastly for the adults, a very special dinner for our 25th Valentine’s Day together. Filet mignon and asparagus with hollandaise. Side salad of heirloom red spinach salad. Mmmmmmm
