The chickens outgrew their plastic storage box pretty quickly. We could see it coming so I ordered a great big bunch of household stuff we use anyway from Amazon - just to get the box.
At first we left the sides solid but then Jim tricked it out with duct tape and hardware cloth so they would be able to see outside, just as they would when they eventually moved out,
This box lasted well enough to keep them in the basement until the coop was built!
When we took it out of the basement, though, we saw it was pretty messed up from all the times the birds kicked their water over. That made it a priority to find a hanging waterer for the big coop.
