Today when I dropped off Jamie at Thorpe Park for her end-of-the-year party with Good News Club, we witnessed some unexpected nature drama unfolding in the pond.
A guy let his dog Kyle (a husky mix) swim in there. Kyle was initially only interested in the Canada Geese, who could easily outswim him. But there was a duck family with very small ducklings that soon got Kyle's attention and it looked really bad for those little duckies.
Fortunately, Kyle only wanted someone to chase, not to eat, and the bigger geese eventually drew him away as the onlooking kids (and me) breathed a sigh of relief.
