Our friend (and Jim's co-worker), Angela and her family went through a very harrowing health crisis this summer when they discovered that their two-year old daughter had a heart defect that is typically not detected until it is fatal. But by a series of true miracles, their daughter lived and is now thriving. She will need monitoring and medical intervention for her entire life but the BIG point is that she made it through. To celebrate, Angela and her husband wanted to throw a party. She planned to hire a face painter but we offered to do it (the girls mostly!) and asked Angela to donate what she would have otherwise paid to Hope Station, a charity we wanted to support for our friend from church.
The face painting was lots of fun and the kids enjoyed it. We loved getting to do art for a good cause. I wore my face painted to the next event, just to see what would happen :)
