This was the first year we ever attended the Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight Parade. It was sure a lot warmer than the Holidazzle, although we noticed the hottest part of summer was definitely on its way out. We went prepared for fun, having been testing out face painting techniques at home
We set up our chairs, watched the 5K runners and waited for the fun to begin. Natalie and Jamie were away at Grandma and Grandpa’s so we had a chance to experiment with going to parade with fewer bodies.
The event started with an airplane fly-over that was pretty cool.
It was a pretty long parade with a wide variety of floats and performing groups. We noted that there was an entirely new set of princess waves that looked a lot more like something you would do to frost a cake or wash a car than saying HELLO.
It was a fun night, worth the drive into town and possibly something we would do again in the future.
