Jamie started a fun little science experiment today. Some of the blooms on my orchid had broken off and wilted so I threw them into the garbage. She saw them there and wanted to find out if she could make perfume with them. She soaked them in water and also added some other little bits from our yard. There isn’t much in bloom yet here except for dandelions but that didn’t deter her. She thought there should be some color to the water so she figured out that she could get some from our colored pencils. She mixed a bunch of little cups of color and then did mad scientist to get the color of the flower water just right. It was fun to see her able to freely explore and find out for herself what the results were.
