While the older girls were overnight a Grandma Sharon’s house, Natalie, Jamie and I took a trip to Hyland Lake Park Reserve. We started at the nature center, especially because they have raptors there and Jamie has a particular love for them. While in the bird observation room, we got to see some wild turkey behavior that was unfamiliar to use – a turkey taking a dirt bath. It was very interesting and we were excited to witness it.
Next, we went over to the play area, which has been called chutes and ladders for a long time. Often, we stop here on a whim, but this time we were prepared with swimsuits because there is a fine mist sprayer on the playground to make hot days a little more manageable. We have been enjoying this park for many years and the girls had lots of fun playing for several hours. We brought snacks and also got a treat from the snack bar since there were only three of us. It was a great day.
