Jamie was really interested in how far a mile was today. We talked about how it was about the distance from our house to the library and how many times around the high school track it was. She wanted to know if she would be able to run a mile after only having gone a quarter mile for phy ed at school. So we set out to determine if she could. The high school track was under construction so we went to the middle school. Lauren used the timer on her watch and Jamie completed the required laps in 11 minutes, 14 seconds. Gloria reported that time was faster than some of her sixth grade classmates had gotten that year. I was so impressed that she did it!
