For her 12th birthday dinner, Gloria wanted to have French Silk Pie and an Asian buffet. Because she’s a totally awesome kid AND loves to cook, she made her own pie parfaits. We have made French Silk Pie before but found that a serving was really, really rich so we made them as parfaits in plastic cups with a crust made out of vanilla wafer crumbs. (This also made it easy for me to have a gluten free version). We followed this recipe for the filling. They were fantastic and anyone who did not finish just put their initial on their cup with a sharpie and finished it later.
The Asian buffet included egg rolls, fried rice, ramen and potstickers.
Presents? Party? These were traded away for her to get an iPad mini this Spring – a device that is being used every.single.day!
